Carl ‘old git’ Slaughter - Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals

The Directors - Carl Slaughter - Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals

Elder statesman of the band, when not pumping out a ballsy bass backbeat he can be found at local garden centres and whist drives.

A veteran of ‘70s club super band ‘Sonny’, his knowledge of hits by the likes of Chicory Tip and Paper Lace is unsurpassed.

Bryan ‘Brian’ Ford - Lead Guitar

The Directors - Bryan (lead guitar)

Bryan is the calming influence in the band; never hassled or stressed, he is like a human spliff for the rest of the band.

One of rock’s most little known facts is that it was him that The Beatles et al went to see for wisdom, good karma and meditation at Rishikesh back in ’67.

Martin ‘Stuart’ Hawthorne - Rhythm Guitar

The Directors - Martin Hawthorn (Rhythm Guitar)

A wild eyed rock animal, Martin is best remembered for his impromptu stage dive at the Tap & Spile in Hull. A crowd of astonished onlookers gazed in awe as he scrambled his way back on stage, resembling a dog clambering out of a river.

For Martin, rock is his master, mistress and secret hot bitch lover.

Philbert ‘Philip’ Curran - Vocals

Philip Curran - Vocals

A wild rover from the emerald isle with a raunchy rock voice that suggests he gargles with grit.

His high octane performances are always a hit with the crowd but now cost the band a fortune by having to pay for an accompanying team of paramedics and oxygen cylinders.

Chris ‘DBA’ Headspith - Drums

The Directors - Chris ‘DBA’ Headspith - Drums

Having decided against a career as a basketball player or Steven Gateley lookalike, CH took up the drums as a way to hang around with musicians (no old chestnuts please, ed).

He’s always at his happiest pounding away on his tom tom and is very proud of his huge kit.
